  • It is built in the traditional Kerala style, with a two-tiered sanctum roofed in copper. Unlike most Kerala temples, it has no flagstaff (kodimaram).
  • The temple is administered by the Malabar Devaswom Board.

Entry for women

By long-standing custom, women may enter the temple in the evening from 7:10 pm onwards, after the Athazha Pooja (the night pooja). The time can shift a little from day to day; if you are staying with us, we will let you know when to go.

Best time to visit

Finish at Sri Rajarajeshwara Temple in the evening. Women can enter from 7:10 pm, and our home is right next door, so you can walk back and rest. It gets busier as the night goes on, so don't leave it too late.
